Calantha M. was born on May 19th, 1863. Calantha M.'s father was Jesse Shipton and her mother is Josephine Galgour. Her paternal grandfather was Jesse Shipton and her paternal grandmother is Julia Davis. She had six brothers and three sisters, named William Henry, Dudley Simmons, Francis Marion, James Andrew, Daniel, Jesse, Martha Ann, Sarah Jane and Alvina `Vinney`.
