Thomas was born about 1277 in England. Thomas' father was Edmund+ Plantagenet and his mother was Blanche Capet D'+ Artois. His paternal grandparents were Henry III+ Plantagenet and Eleanor De+ Provence; his maternal grandparents were Robert I D'+ Artois and Mahaut De+ Brabant. He had two brothers and a sister, named Henry+, John and Mary. He was the oldest of the four children. He had a half-sister named Jeanne I De+.
