Ruth was born on July 6th, 1796 in Lost Creek Mm, Jefferson Co., TN. Ruth's father was John Mills and her mother was Charity Mendenhall. Her paternal grandparents were John III Mills and Sarah Millikan; her maternal grandparents are Mordecai Mendenhall and Hannah Marshall.
