1930 U.S. Federal Census for Gardena Precinct, Walla Walla, Washington shows 17-year-old Norman Mckinsey living with his father Winston (age 51 years) and grandmother Rachel A. (Ashbaugh), age 80 years) Mckinsey, who is head of household and apparently a widow. According to this census, Rachel's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in North Carolina. It states that her first marriage was at age 22 years.
