John Hockett 
John was born on July 29th, 1788 in Guilford, NC. John's father was Joseph Hockett and his mother was Ann Thornburgh. His paternal grandparents were William Hoggatt and Hannah Beals; his maternal grandparents are Joseph Thornburgh and Nancy Ann Armfield. He had a brother and four sisters, named Nathan, Hannah, Margaret, Jane and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died about 1871.General Notes
