Frederick Almy was born on April 12th, 1867 in New Bedford, Bristol Co., MA. Frederick Almy's father was Charles Adams Gifford and his mother was Susan Bateman Almy. His paternal grandparents were John Allen Gifford and Lydia F. Tompkins; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Elam Almy and Susan Bateman. He was an only child.
