Elender was born on May 16th, 1863 in Pike Co., MO. Elender's father was Rufus Eastin and her mother was Nancy Irvine. Her paternal grandparents were James Thomas Eastin and Theodotia South. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named James R., Cassius Brutus, Joseph Flavious, Rufus Hoy, Albro, Ernest, Norman, Nancy Fauntania, Theodosia, Laura and Parthenia. She was the fourth youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 72 on February 14th, 1936 in Pike Co., MO.General Notes
