William Doane

William was born on March 13th, 1789 in Cane Creek Mm, Chatham, NC. William's father was Joseph Doane and his mother was Jemima Vestal. His paternal grandparents were John Doane and Ruth Dixon; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Curran+ Vestal and Elizabeth+ Davis. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, John, Joseph, Jesse, Jonathan, Jacob, Elisha, Ruth, Elizabeth, Rachel and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. He died about 1863.
