John Doane

John was born on October 9th, 1783 in Cane Creek Mm, Chatham, NC. John's father was Joseph Doane and his mother was Jemima Vestal. His paternal grandparents were John Doane and Ruth Dixon; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Curran+ Vestal and Elizabeth+ Davis. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, William, Joseph, Jesse, Jonathan, Jacob, Elisha, Ruth, Elizabeth, Rachel and Mary. He is the second oldest of the twelve children.
