William Beals 
William was born on November 26th, 1783 in Spring Mm, Guilford NC. William's father was John IV Beals and his mother was Susanna Johnson. His paternal grandparents were John III Beals and Margaret Esther Hunt; his maternal grandparents are James Johnson and Margaret Cook. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John V, Bowater, Caleb, Jesse, Peter, Eleazer, Sarah, Margaret and Hannah. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 77 in January 1861 in Richland Friends, Keokuk Co., IA.General Notes
