Robert was born on March 12th, 1316 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.  Robert's father was Lord High Steward Walter Stewart and his mother was Marjorie de Bruce.  His paternal grandfather was Lord High Steward James (Seamus) Stewart of Scotland and his paternal grandmother is Egidia de Burgh; his maternal grandparents were King Robert I (VII) of Scotland and Isobel de Mar.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 74 on April 19th, 1390 in Dundonald Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland.  He was buried in Scone Abbey, Perthshire, Scotland.
