Eirik, known as "Bloodaxe", was born about 0885.  "Bloodaxe"'s father was King Harald ("Fairhair", "Fine Hair", "Thick Hair") Halfdansson I of Norway and his mother is Ragnhild Eiriksdottir.  His paternal grandfather was King Halfdan ("the Black") Gudrodsson III of Norway and his paternal grandmother is Ragnhild Sigurdsdatter; his maternal grandfather is King Erik Eriksson of Jutland. He had a sister named Ingebiord. He had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named "Bloodaxe", Olaf, Bjorn, Sigurd, "Aarbod" and Ingeborge.  He died in 0954 in Stainmore, Westmoreland, England.

They had three sons named Ragnfred, Ragnfred and "greypelt".
