Aelia Galla Placidia was born in 0390.  Aelia Galla Placidia's father was Emperor Theodosius Augustus ("the Great") I of Rome and her mother was Galla Justina Valentinia.  Her paternal grandfather was General Flavius Theodosius ("the Elder") I of Rome and her paternal grandmother is Thermanis ("the Elder") l'Ainee of Rome; her maternal grandparents were Emperor Valentiniam I of Rome-West and Augusta Justina Flavia. She had a sister named Galla Placidia.  She was the older of the two children. She had two half-brothers named Flavius Honorius and Arcadius.  She died at the age of 60 in 0450 in Ravenna.

‌Aelia Galla Placidia and Constantius III Flavius were married in a religious ceremony.  They had a son and a daughter, named Flavius Valentiniam and Julia Gratia Honoria.
