Galla Placidia was born in 0390 in Rome, Italy.  Galla Placidia's father was Emperor Theodosius Augustus ("the Great") I of Rome and her mother was Galla Justina Valentinia.  Her paternal grandfather was General Flavius Theodosius ("the Elder") I of Rome and her paternal grandmother is Thermanis ("the Elder") l'Ainee of Rome; her maternal grandparents were Emperor Valentiniam I of Rome-West and Augusta Justina Flavia. She had a sister named Aelia Galla Placidia.  She was the younger of the two children. She had two half-brothers named Flavius Honorius and Arcadius.  She died at the age of 60 on November 27th, 0450 in Rome, Italy.  She was buried in Chapel of Saints Nazarius and Celsus, Ravenna, Italy.

‌Galla Placidia and Atawulf were married in a religious ceremony about 0404 in Narbonne.  They had a son named "the Brave", "Balthas”.
