Mary was born about 1320 in Tutbury Castle,Tutbury,Staffordshire,England.  Mary's father was Henry Plantagenet Earl of Lancaster and her mother was Maud Chaworth.  Her paternal grandparents were "Crouchback" Earl Lancaster England Prince Edmund and of Artois, Queen of Navarre Blanche; her maternal grandparents were Patrick Chaworth Sir Knight and Isabel Beauchamp. She had a brother and four sisters, named Henry Grosmont, Blanche, Maud, Joan and Eleanor.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died on September 1st, 1362.  She was buried in Alnwick,Northumberland,England.
