Joan was born in 1272 in Acre, Palestine.  Joan's father was "Longshanks" King of England Edward I and her mother was Princess Of Castile and Leon Eleanor.  Her paternal grandparents were King of England (1216-1272) Henry III and of Provance, Queen England Eleanor; her maternal grandparents were Alfonsez King of Castile & Leon Fernando III and Jeanne Of Dammartin Of Ponthieu. She had a brother and four sisters, named Plantagenet, King of England, Princess Of England, Margaret Princess Of, Elizabeth Princess Of and Blanche Princess Of.  She was the second oldest of the six children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Plantagenet, of Brotherton, Earl Norfolk, Plantagenet, of Woodstock, Earl of Kent 1, John and Eleanor.  She died in Clare, Suffolk, England.  She was buried on September 7th, 1265 in Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, England.

‌Joan and Gilbert "the Red Earl" were married in a religious ceremony on April 30th, 1290 in Westminister Abbey, Westminster, Middlesex, England.  They had a son and three daughters, named Gilbert, Eleanor, Margaret and Elizabeth.


Joan's second family with Ralph de Monthermer , Baron, Earl of Hertford

‌Joan and Ralph were married in a religious ceremony.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Thomas, Edward, Mary and Joan.
