Ferdinand II was born in 1137 in Toledo, Castile.  Ferdinand II's father was King Of Leon And Castile Alfonso VII and his mother was Queen of Castile Berenguela.  His paternal grandparents were Raymond Of Burgundy , Count Of Galicia and Queen of Leon and Castile Urraca; his maternal grandfather is Raymond Berenger III Count Of Barcelona. He had a brother and a sister, named "The Desired" King Of Castile and Princess of Castile [Queen of France]. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named King, Of Castile, of Castile and Urraca.  He died in Benavente, Zamora, Castile.

‌Ferdinand II and Princess were married in a religious ceremony in June 1165 in Coimbra, Portugal.  They had a son named Alfonso.
