Winnie Faye was born on August 22nd, 1903 in Rockhouse, Williamson Co., Texas.1 Winnie Faye's father was Bigham Scion Tumlinson and her mother was Cynthia Elizabeth Cotton. Her paternal grandparents were William Pytus Tumlinson and Mary Ann Boykin; her maternal grandparents are William L. Cotton and Emma Unknown. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Bigham Earnest, Martin Raymond, William Harlery, Sr., Obie Ulee, Joseph Newton, Linzie Matthew, David Franklin, Annie Adele, Mary Ida, Lylas Adeline, Cynthia Virginia and Estelle.
