Linzie Matthew was born on February 11th, 1902 in Texas.1 Linzie Matthew's father was Bigham Scion Tumlinson and his mother was Cynthia Elizabeth Cotton. His paternal grandparents were William Pytus Tumlinson and Mary Ann Boykin; his maternal grandparents are William L. Cotton and Emma Unknown. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Bigham Earnest, Martin Raymond, William Harlery, Sr., Obie Ulee, Joseph Newton, David Franklin, Annie Adele, Mary Ida, Lylas Adeline, Winnie Faye, Cynthia Virginia and Estelle.
