William Harlery, Sr. was born on November 4th, 1895 in Texas.1 William Harlery, Sr.'s father was Bigham Scion Tumlinson and his mother was Cynthia Elizabeth Cotton. His paternal grandparents were William Pytus Tumlinson and Mary Ann Boykin; his maternal grandparents are William L. Cotton and Emma Unknown. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Bigham Earnest, Martin Raymond, Obie Ulee, Joseph Newton, Linzie Matthew, David Franklin, Annie Adele, Mary Ida, Lylas Adeline, Winnie Faye, Cynthia Virginia and Estelle.
