Obie Ulee was born on June 27th, 1897 in Texas.1 Obie Ulee's father was Bigham Scion Tumlinson and his mother was Cynthia Elizabeth Cotton. His paternal grandparents were William Pytus Tumlinson and Mary Ann Boykin; his maternal grandparents are William L. Cotton and Emma Unknown. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Bigham Earnest, Martin Raymond, William Harlery, Sr., Joseph Newton, Linzie Matthew, David Franklin, Annie Adele, Mary Ida, Lylas Adeline, Winnie Faye, Cynthia Virginia and Estelle. He died at the age of 90 in June 1987 in Athens, Henderson Co., Texas.1 General Notes
