Bigham Scion was born on February 18th, 1866 in Gonzales Co., Texas.1   Bigham Scion's father was William Pytus Tumlinson and his mother was Mary Ann Boykin.  His paternal grandparents were James Stephen, Sr. Tumlinson and Mary Elizabeth White; his maternal grandparents are Scion Lee Boykin and Elizabeth E. Anderson. He had six brothers and five sisters, named George William, Littleton F., William J., James Stephen, David Franklin, Jefferson Lee, Ann Elizabeth, Francis Permelia, Mary Margaret Ann, Melissa Adeline and Tillie Olla.  He was the fourth youngest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 88 on March 28th, 1954 in San Angelo, Tom Green Co., Texas.1

‌Bigham Scion and Cynthia Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on August 31st, 1884 in Llano, Llano Co., Texas.1   They had seven sons and six daughters, named Bigham Earnest, Martin Raymond, William Harlery, Sr., Obie Ulee, Joseph Newton, Linzie Matthew, David Franklin, Annie Adele, Mary Ida, Lylas Adeline, Winnie Faye, Cynthia Virginia and Estelle.
