John Blounton was born in 1839 in Illinois.1 John Blounton's father was John Snider and his mother was Mary Blount. His paternal grandparents were Rudoph Snider and Mary Elizabeth Morgan. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Asa, Samuel, Charles, Moses, Wesley, Asenith, Hannah, Elenora and Margaret. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Enoch N., Barton, Rebecca, Sarah Ann and Elizabeth E.. He died at the age of 76 on November 6th, 1915 in Vermilion Co., Illinois. He was buried in Snider Cemetery , 4 Miles west of Danville, Illinos.1 1 General Notes
