Lyda was born on September 9th, 1867 in Vermilion Co., Illinois.1 Lyda's father was John Blounton Snider and her mother was Rachel E. Robinson. Her paternal grandparents were John Snider and Mary Blount. She had six brothers and four sisters, named William W., Samuel B., John, Orvel, Asa, Louis Edward, Mary L., Esther Ellen, Lillian Belle and Medda.
