Samuel B. was born on October 14th, 1861 in Vermilion Co., Illinois.1 Samuel B.'s father was John Blounton Snider and his mother was Rachel E. Robinson. His paternal grandparents were John Snider and Mary Blount. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William W., John, Orvel, Asa, Louis Edward, Mary L., Esther Ellen, Lyda, Lillian Belle and Medda. He was the second oldest of the eleven children.
