James Alfred Skaggs 
James Alfred was born on October 12th, 1855 in Taylor Co., Kentucky.1 James Alfred's father was William Solomon Skaggs and his mother is Emily Frances Hedgespeth. His paternal grandparents were Solomon Skaggs and Martha Prather. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Solomon, John M., William Riley, Robert M., Holland Henry, Caroline, Mahala, Nancy, Mary, Emily F. and Bettie J.. He was the third oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 71 on February 23rd, 1927 in Taylor Co., Kentucky.
