Solomon was born on December 24th, 1803 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Solomon's father was William David Skaggs and his mother was Margaret Hoover. His paternal grandparents are David Skaggs and Margaraet Cannon. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William T., John W., Julius, David, Richard, Elizabeth and Rachel.
