Cynthia Jane was born in 1835 in Taylor Co., Kentucky.1 Cynthia Jane's father was Solomon Skaggs and her mother was Martha Prather. Her paternal grandparents were William David Skaggs and Margaret Hoover. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William Solomon, Moses Riley, King Solomon, Susan Margaret, Sarah, Mahala and Martha. She is the fourth youngest of the eight children.General Notes
