Mahala Skaggs

Mahala was born in 1854.¹ Mahala's father was William Solomon Skaggs and her mother is Emily Frances Hedgespeth. Her paternal grandparents were Solomon Skaggs and Martha Prather. She had six brothers and five sisters, named James Alfred, Solomon, John M., William Riley, Robert M., Holland Henry, Caroline, Nancy, Mary, Emily F. and Bettie J.. She is the second oldest of the twelve children.
