William Riley was born on June 2nd, 1860 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., Kentucky.1 William Riley's father was William Solomon Skaggs and his mother is Emily Frances Hedgespeth. His paternal grandparents were Solomon Skaggs and Martha Prather. He had five brothers and six sisters, named James Alfred, Solomon, John M., Robert M., Holland Henry, Caroline, Mahala, Nancy, Mary, Emily F. and Bettie J.. He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 66 on June 14th, 1926 in Mulberry, Crawford Co., Arkansas.1 General Notes
