Lawson Oxley 
Lawson was born on February 18th, 1833 in Vermillion Co., Illinois.1 Lawson's father was Enoch Oxley and his mother was Elizabeth Smalley. His paternal grandparents were William Henry Oxley and Jane Binley; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin F. Smalley and Mary Liggett. He had a brother and four sisters, named Everett, Mary Jane, Susan Catherine, Cynthia Ellen and Sarah E.. He was the second oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named James Louis, Sophrania Ann, Rachael Victoria, Victoria and Prudence. He died at the age of 20 on July 16th, 1853.1 General Notes
