William J. Bassham 
William J. was born on May 4th, 1853 in Lawrence Co., Tennessee.1 William J.'s father was William D. Bassham and his mother was Nancy Ann (Eunice) Hinsely. His paternal grandparents were Richard Basham and Pheebee Pinnicuff. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Russell Lyourfus, Jasper N. (Inspirit?), Solomon J. (Bud), John S., V. E., Mary E., Cynthia (Frances), Phebe J. and Matilda Amanda. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named J. Richard, Thomas Avery, L. J., Nancy E. (Or Doris E), Sarah M. and S. E.. He died at the age of 54 on April 18th, 1908 in Texas.1 General Notes
