William Ashford Bassham 
William Ashford was born on November 10th, 1891 in Sugar Creek, Lawrence Co., Tenn.1 William Ashford's father was William J. Bassham and his mother was Martha Elizabeth Foust. His paternal grandparents were William D. Bassham and Nancy Ann (Eunice) Hinsely. He had three brothers and a sister, named George M., Felix Noah, Lorenso R. and Martha Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 62 on October 7th, 1954 in Barton, Colbert Co., Alabama.1 General Notes
