J. Richard Bassham 
J. Richard was born on February 18th, 1872 in Lawrence Co., Tennessee.1 J. Richard's father was William D. Bassham and his mother was Kisiah Roper. His paternal grandparents were Richard Basham and Pheebee Pinnicuff. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Avery, L. J., Nancy E. (Or Doris E), Sarah M. and S. E.. He was the third oldest of the six children. He had six half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Russell Lyourfus, Jasper N. (Inspirit?), Solomon J. (Bud), William J., John S., V. E., Mary E., Cynthia (Frances), Phebe J. and Matilda Amanda. He died at the age of 29 on December 3rd, 1901.1 General Notes
