Charles "I" was born in Vincennes, Val-de-Marne, France.1   Charles "I"'s father was Philip Augustus "III" de France and his mother was Isabel de Aragon.  His paternal grandparents were Louis Augustus "IX" de France and Margaret de Provence; his maternal grandparents were James Pedrez "I" de Aragon and Yolande de Hungary. He had three brothers and a sister, named Louis, Philip "IV", Robert and Blanche. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Louis and Marguerite.  He died on December 16th, 1325 in Nogent-le-Roi, Eure-et-Loire, France.  He was buried in 1325 in St Jacques, Paris, Seine, France.1 1 


Charles "I"'s first family with Margaret de Sicile

‌Charles "I" and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony on August 16th, 1290 in Corbeil, Marne, France.1   They had two sons and four daughters, named Philip "VI", Charles "II", Isabelle, Jeanne, Marguerite and Catherine.


Charles "I"'s second family with Catherine de Courtenay

‌Charles "I" and Catherine were married in a religious ceremony in 1301.1   They had a son and three daughters, named Jean, Catherine, Jeanne and Isabelle.


Charles "I"'s third family with Matilda de Chatillon

‌Charles "I" and Matilda were married in a religious ceremony in 1308.1   They had a son and three daughters, named Louis, Marie, Isabelle and Blanche.
