Louis Augustus "IX" was born on April 25th, 1215 in Chateau of Poissy, Yvelines, France.1 Louis Augustus "IX"'s father was Louis Augustus "VIII" de France and his mother was Blanche de Castile. His paternal grandparents were Philip Augustus "II" Capet and Isabel de Flandres; his maternal grandparents were Alphonso Sanchez "VIII" de Castile and Eleanor Plantagenet. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Philippe, Philippe, John, Alphonso, Philippe, Charles "I", Robert "I", Isabelle and Etienne. He died at the age of 55 on August 25th, 1270 in Carthage, Tunis, Tunisia. He was buried in St. Denis, Seine-St.-Denis, France.1 1 General Notes
