Alphonso was born on November 11th, 1220 in Paris, Seine, France.1 Alphonso's father was Louis Augustus "VIII" de France and his mother was Blanche de Castile. His paternal grandparents were Philip Augustus "II" Capet and Isabel de Flandres; his maternal grandparents were Alphonso Sanchez "VIII" de Castile and Eleanor Plantagenet. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Philippe, Louis Augustus "IX", Philippe, John, Philippe, Charles "I", Robert "I", Isabelle and Etienne. He died at the age of 50 on August 21st, 1271 in Corneto Castle, Corneto, Sienne, Italy. He was buried in St. Denis, Seine-St.-Denis, France.1 1 General Notes
