Her paternal grandparents were David Crockett Straley and Sarah Anne Elizabeth. She had a brother and three sisters, named William Edward Crockett, Bessie Hazeldell Mitchell, ? and Daisy Edgar Margaret Weatherly. She was the third oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers named Charles Goodlae and Joseph Augustus. She died at the age of 83 in January 1983 in Pearisburg, Virginia.1 General Notes
