Bessie Hazeldell Mitchell was born on September 13th, 1892.1 Bessie Hazeldell Mitchell's father was Joseph Lynch Straley and her mother was Eliza Jane Oney. Her paternal grandparents were David Crockett Straley and Sarah Anne Elizabeth. She had a brother and three sisters, named William Edward Crockett, Katie May Lucille Jackson, ? and Daisy Edgar Margaret Weatherly. She was the oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers named Charles Goodlae and Joseph Augustus. She died at the age of 30 on October 10th, 1922 in Belspring, Virginia.1 -
