Valentine Roach 
Valentine was born about 1841 in Rockingham Co., Virginia.1 Valentine's father was Calus Roach and his mother was Elizabeth Shifflett. His paternal grandfather was Samuel Roach and his paternal grandmother is Mollie Meadows. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Mickelberry, Archibald, Smith, Christine J., Polly Ann and Sarah E.. He was the second youngest of the seven children.
