Mary Ellen was born in 1837.¹ Mary Ellen's father was JORDAN Meadows and her mother was Susannah Payne. Her paternal grandparents are Jacob Meadows and MARY ARRINGTON. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Andrew J., Ballard Phillip, Sampson Gilbert, Floyd W., William L., Elizabeth and Eleanor. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Ballard P., Sampson M., Floyd W., John R., Eleanor, RHODA and Luresa.¹
