James Hart

James was born on January 27th, 1822 in Highland Co., Ohio.¹ James' father was Joel Hart and his mother was Rebecca Thompson. His maternal grandparents were Balaam Thompson and Hannah McSwane. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named William, Andrew J, Jonathan, Jeremiah, Jacob, Joel, John, Mary, Catherine, Elizabeth and Julia. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.¹
