Luce Couvillon 
Luce was born on October 4th, 1839 in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana.1 Luce's father was Sosthene Alexander Couvillon and her mother was Emelia Mayeaux. Her paternal grandparents were PIERRE Couvillon and *BRIGETTE Mayeux; her maternal grandparents were ANTOINE Mayeux and ROSALIE Broyard Barre. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Severe, Edgard, Sosthene Alexandre, Ovide Omer, Clementine, Evelina and Celinie. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died due to She died giving birth to twin girls who did not survive. at the age of 28 on September 5th, 1868 in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. She was buried in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Mansura, Louisiana.1 1 -
