Sarah Clay 
Sarah was born about 1783 in Bedford County, Virginia.1 Sarah's father was Mitchel Clay and her mother was Phoebe Belcher. Her maternal grandparents were RICHARD D. Belcher and MARY Obedience Clay. She had seven brothers and seven sisters, named Bartley, Ezekial, David Peyton, John, Mitchel, Charles L., William, Mary, Tabitha, Rebecca, Obedience 'Bedy', Patience, Naomie and Polly. She was the second youngest of the fifteen children. She died after July 26th, 1810.1 -

Sarah and John were married in a religious ceremony on February 11th, 1800 in Montgomery County, Virginia.1 They had six sons and seven daughters, named William P., Thompson Harvey, Augustus C., P. Jacob, Oliver Clay, Andrew Jackson, Rachel, Rhoda Nancy, Elizabeth, Juliet, Clara, Rebecca and Sarah.
