William Clay 
William was born on November 7th, 1777 in Bedford County, Virginia.1 William's father was Mitchel Clay and his mother was Phoebe Belcher. His maternal grandparents were RICHARD D. Belcher and MARY Obedience Clay. He had six brothers and eight sisters, named Bartley, Ezekial, David Peyton, John, Mitchel, Charles L., Mary, Tabitha, Rebecca, Obedience 'Bedy', Patience, Naomie, Sarah and Polly. He was the third youngest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 64 on January 12th, 1842 in Lawrence County, Kentucky.1 -
