William Thaxton 
William was born on September 23rd, 1782 in Prince Edward Co., VA. William's father was David Franklin Thaxton and his mother was Sarah Sheppard. His paternal grandparents were James X Thaxton and Elizabeth Clarke. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Samuel, David Franklin, Sheppard, Elizabeth, Peggy, Nancy and Sarah. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 57 in 1839 in Bedford Co.,Virginia.-
