William Henry was born on July 3rd, 1816 in Virginia. William Henry's father was William Thaxton and his mother was Katherine Tate. His paternal grandparents were David Franklin Thaxton and Sarah Sheppard; his maternal grandparents are Samuel Tate and Mary Ann UNKNOWN. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Nathaniel F., John F., James Clark, David Thomas, Robert, Mary Ann and Frances. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 57 on June 25th, 1874 in Bedford Co., VA.-
