James SUTHERLAND

James was born about 1780 in Thurs, Cthness, Scot and his baptism took place on March 6th, 1781 in Thurso, Cthnss, Sctl. James' father is John SUTHERLAND and his mother is Christian HILL. His paternal grandparents are Hector SUTHERLAND and Barbara RIESS; his maternal grandparents are James HILL and Margaret FINLAYSON. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named William, Sinclair, Donald, Nicholson, Couper, Hector, Robert, John, (2) Isabella, Couper and Marrion. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died in Of Giese, Thurso, Caithness-Shire, Scotland.
