John Martin SHELTON 
John Martin was born on June 3rd, 1846 in Beech Grove, Rutherford Co, Tennessee. John Martin's father was Wiley Preston SHELTON and his mother was Matilda Ann GIBSON. His paternal grandparents were Jessee SHELTON and Lydia KEELE; his maternal grandparents are James GIBSON and Nancy KEELE. He had eight brothers and a sister, named James K P, Jessie Ervin, Stephen, Harvey Ransom, William Harrison, Bartley M, Thomas Neilious, Wiley Wilson and Nancy Jane. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 74 on July 4th, 1920 in Manchester, , Tennessee.General Notes
