John Quincy was born on January 2nd, 1850 in Cannon, TN.  John Quincy's father was John Porter Gannon and his mother was Elizabeth Hayes.  His paternal grandparents were George Gannon and Joanna Whitt. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Alfred J., William Carroll, James Beacham, Martha Ann, Joanna, Frances T. and Mary Jane.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers, and also a half-sibling of unknown gender named Isaac, Samuel L. and Baby.  He died at the age of 74 on June 20th, 1924 in Holly Grove, Monroe, AR.
